A display case for tickets is provided which is generally enclosed and includes a top portion which is transparent for viewing the tickets therein. The tickets are supported on trays which are arranged to be slidably removed from the housing through an opening at one end of the housing. A cover is pivotally mounted over the opening for selectively securing the trays within the housing when a locking mechanism on housing is in a locked position. The locking mechanism includes a remote for actuating a solenoid which displaces the locking mechanism between respective locked and unlocked positions as desired. The display case is particularly suited for securing lottery tickets and the like which are intended to be displayed on a counter in a convenience store.
