A postage meter having a movable shutter covering the printing die of the meter and mechanisms associated either with the postage meter or a meter base for locking the shutter and moving it, are disclosed. In one embodiment a keyswitch is provided which control locking and unlocking of the shutter and its movement. The meter base locks the postage meter therein with unlocking being controlled by the keyswitch.

Cette invention concerne une machine à affranchir équipée d'un obturateur mobile servant à masquer la platine d'impression et les mécanismes associés à la machine elle-même ou à son socle pour verrouiller et déplacer ledit obturateur. Une variante du mécanisme de verrouillage et de manoeuvre est à commande à clé. La machine se verrouille à l'intérieur de son socle, le déverrouillage étant commnadé par un interrupteur à clé.
