2090112 9203260 PCTABS00010 Improved locking wrenches (10) are provided with handle-restraining means (18) to restrain the upper and lower operating handles (20, 28) against movement into their opened state when in a closed state thereof. The handle-restraining means (18) includes first (e.g. 50, 52) and second (e.g. 46, 48) restraining elements respectively forming a part of the lower operating handle (28) and the adjustment screw (42). The first and second restraining elements may be brought into cooperative adjacent relationship with one another when the upper and lower operating handles (20, 28) are moved into their closed state thereof, whereby the upper and lower operating (20, 28) handles may be restrained from moving into the opened state thereof.
