A device for lifting logs and holding them for cutting has a base comprising a front foot and a rear foot, each about 12 inches long. Extending upwardly and rearwardly from the front foot is a handle which has a telescoping end. The rear foot is also attached to the handle, rearward of the front foot, with a member which is perpendicular to the handle. Intermediate the front and rear foot, a log cradling arm extends upwardly and forwardly from the top of the handle. Rearward of the rear foot, a hook member is pivotally attached to the top of the handle and faces forwardly. The log cradling arm and the hook member each have barbs at their respective ends to better grip a log.
