"LOG SPLITTER ATTACHMENT FOR STABILIZING MACHINE ARMS OF GROUND WORKING IMPLEMENTS" ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Hydraulic log splitters are relatively expensive and are only used occasionally. Owners of ground working implements such as back hoes and the like which include ram operated stabilizing arms, have a ready source of hy- draulic power available and this invention comprises a log splitter attachment for such stabilizer arms in which the hydraulic ram can be used to power the log splitter. In one embodiment the ram piston is disconnected from the machine arm and the log splitter is mounted upon the machine arm whereupon the ram piston is connected to the sliding wedge component of the log splitter. In another embodiment the log splitter is left in place and a transport rod is engaged between the fixed post and the sliding wedge of the log splitter so that extension and retraction of the ram raises and lowers the machine arm via the log splitter. The trans- port rod is removed when it is desired to utilize the log splitter per se. In both embodiments, the distal end of the log splitter is supported by a support arm extending from the distal end of the base to the machine arm.
