ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A log turner is disclosed for turning and aligning logs. The present device operates at a high working rate and uses a minimum amount of energy for its operation. The device has a charge conveyor for conveying a log to an opening beneath which is a discharge conveyor. Push-off members are attached adjacent the charge conveyor and the opening. The charge conveyor pushes logs onto a chute inclined downwards from the charge conveyor to the discharge conveyor. A roller plane is provided together with the charge conveyor to carry a log to the opening and then arc shaped push-off arms on the push-off members push the log down the carrying chute. The push-off arms are adapted to give the log a final pivotal movement while it is being moved down the discharge conveyor.
