A longitudinally engageable scroll saw blade holder for scroll saws is disclosed. The scroll saw blade holder is constructed for releasable engagement with one end of a saw blade. Upper and lower scroll saw blade holders may be used for releasably engaging both ends, if desired. The scroll saw blade holder includes first and second clamping jaws each having a clamping end and a second end. The first and second clamping jaws are arranged to clamp the saw blade for a greater distance along its length than its width. A pivot pin extends vertically through complementary mating and interfitting portions intermediate the clamping and second ends of the first and second clamping jaws. The pivot pin is desirably a coil spring pin. For releasably engaging the saw blade, a thumbscrew extends through the second end of one of the clamping jaws for engaging the second end of the other clamping jaw in order to pivot the first and second clamping jaws relative to one another for releasably clamping the saw blade between the first and second clamping jaws.
