The present invention is directed to an extruded filter head having a longitudinal axis. The filter head includes an extruded housing having two ends for directing the flow of fluid through the filter head. At least one fluid flow channel is provided through the housing for fluid to enter and exit from the filter head wherein at least one fluid channel and the extruded housing share a common axis. The filter head further includes at least one pair of openings in which a first opening communicates with at least one fluid flow channel for fluid to enter into the filter head and a second opening communicates with at least one fluid flow channel for fluid to exit from the filter head.
