A longitudinally stretched multilayered film having good barrier properties is de- scribed. The film is prepared by a process comprising (a) preparing by coextrusion a laminate structured of, in sequence, a first polyamide layer, an EVOH layer, and a second polyamide layer, and (b) longitudinally stretching the laminate and (c) ap- plying by vacuum vapor deposition to one of the surfaces of the stretched laminate an inorganic layer.
