ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A loop retention device for hook operated bomb arming solenoids in which when effecting unarmed release a telescopic plunger is displaced by movement of the bomb release hooks and the armature of a solenoid to completely release a lanyard, but when a bomb is to be armed the solenoid remains energised and the teles- copic member acts to lock the armature of the solenoid and the release control pin in a holding position irrespective of whether the solenoid is energised or not.
