LOOPER DRIVE MECHANISM FOR SEWING MACHINES ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A looper drive mechanism for sewing machines wherein rotational and axial movements are imparted to the looper by a motion transfer assembly driven off an oblique crank formed at one end of a rotating shaft. An operator controlled member is operatively connected to a mechanism which changes the relative working association between the oblique crank and motion transfer assembly so as to vary the looper avoid motion.
