A loose source routing system (10) to permit communications over wired (16) and radio (70, 72, 59) networks is disclosed. Wired access points (WAPs) (12, 14) are used to route the information. The wired system (16) is connected to the WAPs via bridger/routers (26). Node controllers (42, 44) couple the wired system to a plurality of transceivers (46, 48, 50, 52, 54, 56, 58, 60) which communicate with the radio networks. The invention employs an ordered list of paths in the network. A packet is addressed according to the ordered list of paths in the network. L'invention concerne la transmission dans des réseaux de câble (16) et radio (70, 72, 59) à l'aide d'un système (10) d'acheminement non imposé par l'origine.
