The present invention provides for a scratcher for instant scratch lottery cards. The scratcher has an elongated body for gripping by a user in a pencil-like manner. The body on one end tapers inwardly to form a scratching edge. Preferably, the scratching edge is angled such that the elongated body lies at an acute angle when being used to scratch an instant lottery card.
