A loudspeaker (81) comprising an enclosure, an acoustic radiator (2) in the enclosure, a compliant suspension (3) mounting the radiator in the enclosure for pistonic movement relative thereto, and transducer means (9) for driving the radiator pistonically, characterized in that the radiator is a panel-form distributed mode acoustic radiator, by a first transducer mounted wholly and exclusively on the radiator to vibrate the radiator to cause it to resonate, and by means (11) for varying the air pressure in the enclosure to cause the radiator to move pistonically.
La présente invention concerne un haut-parleur (81) constitué d'une enceinte, d'un élément radiant (2) acoustique enfermé dans l'enceinte, d'une suspension élastique (3) permettant le montage de l'élément radiant dans l'enceinte de façon à ce que cet élément se déplace un piston par rapport à l'enceinte, et d'un organe transducteur (9) permettant de conférer un mouvement de piston à l'élément radiant. Ce haut parleur est caractérisé par la forme en panneau de l'élément radiant acoustique fonctionnant en mode distribué, par un premier transducteur totalement et exclusivement monté sur l'élément radiant de façon à faire vibrer ce dernier, et à le faire entrer en résonance, et par des organes (11) permettant de faire varier la pression d'air dans l'enceinte de façon à provoquer le mouvement de piston de l'élément radiant.
