A head-up display including an image source for providing imaging illumination, a transparent window for transmitting the imaging illumination, and a combiner for partially reflecting the transmitted imaging illumination. A louver structure overlying the transparent window permits the passage of imaging illumination while elim- inating ambient reflections off the transparent window that would otherwise reach the vehicle operator's eyes.
