A fiber having a surface with a relatively low coefficient of friction portion and a relatively high coefficient of friction portion. The fiber may be produced by slitting a film/sheet which has been coextruded, laminated and/or coated, or by partially coating a base fiber. Fabrics made from such fibers exhibit increased structural integrity.

L'invention a pour objet une fibre comprenant une surface qui possède une partie à coefficient de frottement relativement faible et une partie à coefficient de frottement relativement élevé. On peut fabriquer cette fibre par découpage d'un film / d'une feuille qui a été coextrudée, laminée et/ou munie d'un revêtement, ou encore par enrobage d'une fibre de base. Les tissus fabriqués à partir de ces fibres manifestent une intégrité structurelle plus élevée.
