Abstract: The present invention relates to a low cost disposable radiation detector. The detector is comprised of a sub- strate layer provided on a support surface. A strip of track registration material is provided having the property of forming damage tracks therein along paths which are traversed by alpha particles. A top layer is adhered to the substrate layer and is cooperative therewith for removable securing the strip to the substrate. The top layer has an aperture located therein, in a predetermined location. The top layer has a tab portion adjacent the aperture which is bendable out of the plane of the top layer and overlaps a portion of one end of the strip of track registration material for retaining the strip in the aperture.
