A web of radio frequency identification (RFID) devices includes a conductive layer atop an insulating layer, the conductive layer having one or more apertures therein. Alternatively, the web may not include an insulating layer. RFID chips or straps are electrically coupled to portions of the conductive layer on either side of an aperture, for use as antennas when the RFID devices are separated from one another, as by cutting. The apertures may be formed by creasing portions of the web, and removing parts of the creased portion. There may be one or more apertures in a longitudinal or transverse direction of the web. The antenna shapes of various of the RFID devices may be tessellated, nesting within one another or having the same boundary, thereby improving efficiency by using substantially all of the conductive material. The RFID devices may be tested and/or programmed while remaining in the web format.
Selon l'invention, une bande de dispositifs d'identification par radio-fréquence (RFID) comprend une couche conductrice qui est située sur une couche d'isolation et qui présente au moins une ouverture. Parallèlement, ladite bande peut ne pas comporter une couche d'isolation. Des bandes ou des puces RFID sont couplées électriquement à des parties de la couche conductrice sur un des côtés d'une ouverture utilisées en tant qu'antennes, lorsque les dispositifs RFID sont séparés l'un de l'autre, par découpe. Ces ouvertures peuvent être formées par plissage de parties de la bande et par élimination de parties de la partie plissée. Au moins une ouverture se trouve dans une direction longitudinale ou transversale de la bande. Les formes d'antennes des divers dispositifs RFID peuvent être en mosaïque, elles se nichent les unes à l'intérieur des autres ou présentent la même limite, ce qui permet d'améliorer l'efficacité par le biais de l'utilisation de pratiquement toute la matière conductrice. Ces dispositifs RFID peuvent être essayés et/ou programmés, tandis qu'ils gardent le même format de bande.
