A runflat radial ply pneumatic tire (10) having a carcass (30) reinforced with at least two sidewall fillers or inserts (42, 46) and at least one cord reinforced ply (38) and two bead cores (26) and one or more reinforcing belts (36). The at least one ply (38) reinforced with cords, the cords have a pair of turuup ends (32) wrapped around the pair of bead cores (26). The turnup ends (32) extend radially outwardly to a terminal end (33), the terminal end (33) being located under the reinforcing belts (36). The first insert (42) lies radially inward and adjacent the ply (38). The second insert (46) lies radially between the ply (38) and its turnup end (32). The tire (10) requires a reduced number of components and can be lighter in weight than the prior art runflat tires.
L'invention porte sur un pneumatique radial (10) pouvant rouler dégonflé présentant: une carcasse renforcée (30) par au moins deux éléments (42, 46) latéraux de remplissage ou d'insertion, au moins un pli (38) renforcé par une corde, deux noyaux de bourrelets (26) et une ou plusieurs ceintures de renfort (36). Les cordes de renfort du ou des plis (38) sont renforcées et présentent une paire d'extrémités relevées (32) entourées autour des noyaux des bourrelets (26). Les extrémités relevées (32) s'étendent radialement vers l'extérieur jusqu'à extrémité terminale (33) située sous les ceintures de renfort (36). Le premier élément d'insertion (42) se situe radialement vers l'intérieur et contre le pli (38). Le deuxième élément d'insertion (42) se situe radialement entre le pli (38) et ses extrémités relevées (32). Le susdit pneumatique nécessite un nombre moindre de composants et peut être moins lourd que les pneumatiques pouvant rouler dégonflés antérieurs.
