An apparatus for and method for powering a microprocessor from energy received from a fuel burner at ignition. A thermopile receives heat energy from the flame and generates electrical power to enable operation of a microprocessor. This electrical power is converted to a higher voltage by a special low voltage DC-to-DC converter which operates shortly after ignition. The special low voltage powers a second DC-to-DC converter which in turn powers the microprocessor.

L'invention concerne un dispositif et un procédé destinés à alimenter un microprocesseur en énergie provenant d'un brûleur de combustible à l'allumage. Une pile thermoélectrique reçoit de l'énergie thermique d'une flamme et génère un courant électrique permettant le fonctionnement du microprocesseur. La tension de ce courant est relevée par un transformateur continu-continu à basse tension qui intervient juste après l'allumage. La basse tension spéciale alimente un second transformateur continu-continu qui à son tour active le microprocesseur.
