ABSTRACT Highly concentrated homogeneous liquid surfactant compositions are provided which are particularly advan- tageous for stabilizing mixtures of pulverized coal in fuel oil useful in conventional fuel oil burning equip- ment. The surfactant compositions can be prepared by neutralizing an admixture of a nonionic alkylaryl poly- oxyalkylene ether and an alkylarylsulfonic acid with C1-3 a1kanolamine.
