A method of preparing reduced pour point amides. The method involves reacting an etheramine and a fatty acid, or a methyl ester thereof, in a molar ratio from about 0.1:1 to about 10:1. The resulting low pour point primary amides are also disclosed. These low pour point primary amines have a low vapor pressure, and exhibit excellent emulsifying and lubricating properties. A method of lowering the pour point of high pour point amides is also disclosed. This method involves blending the low pour point amides of the present invention with amides having pour points higher than the pour point of the primary amides of the present invention.
L'invention concerne un procédé de préparation d'amides à point d'écoulement réduit. Ledit procédé consiste à faire réagir une étheramine et un acide gras, ou un méthylester de celui-ci, selon un rapport molaire d'environ 0,1 :1 à environ 10 :1. L'invention porte également sur les amides primaires à faible point d'écoulement résultants. Lesdites amines primaires à faible point d'écoulement présentent une faible pression de vapeur et des propriétés émulsifiantes et lubrifiantes excellentes. Un procédé de réduction du point d'écoulement d'amides à point d'écoulement élevé est également décrit. Ledit procédé consiste à mélanger des amides à faible point d'écoulement à des amides présentant des points d'écoulement supérieurs à celui des amides primaires à faible point d'écoulement de l'invention.
