A two-way low-power communication system for an electronic shelf label system uses a multiplicity of labels (95), each of which has an antenna (15) and a diode (16). Data to be received at the label is Manchester encoded (45) and 100 % AM modulated onto a spread-spectrum RF signal emitted from a broadcast antenna in the store ceiling (13). The label detects the RF energy and a simple comparator (44) followed by a Manchester decoder (54) extracts the digital data stream. The result is a minimization of cost and complexity in the label (95) and an optimal exploitation of the bandwidth given the regulatory framework thereof.
Système de communication bidirectionnelle à faible puissance destiné à un système d'étiquetage pour étagère électronique faisant intervenir une multiplicité d'étiquettes (95) dont chacune comporte une antenne (15) et une diode (16). Les données qui doivent être reçues au niveau de l'étiquette sont codées par code Manchester (45) et modulées en amplitude à 100 % sur un signal à haute fréquence à spectre étalé émis par une antenne de radiodiffusion située dans le plafond (13) du magasin. L'étiquette détecte l'énergie H.F. et un comparateur simple (44) suivi d'un décodeur de code Manchester (54) extrait le flux de données digitales. Le résultat est une minimisation du coût et de la complexité au niveau de l'étiquette (95) et une exploitation optimale de la largeur de bande étant donné sa structure régulatrice.
