A parking meter and parking meter network is described as well as a method of operating the parking meter and parking meter network. The parking meter network includes a gateway that transmits a first beacon message that is received at the parking meter. The parking meter synchronizes an internal timer based on the receiving of the first beacon message, and then goes to sleep for a period of time. The gateway transmits a second beacon message and the parking meter wakes up at the expiration of the sleep period using the synchronized internal time and receives the second beacon message.
L'invention concerne un parcmètre et un réseau de parcmètres ainsi qu'un procédé d'utilisation du parcmètre et du réseau de parcmètres. Le réseau de parcmètres comprend une passerelle qui transmet un premier message de balise reçu sur le parcmètre. Le parcomètre synchronise une minuterie interne, sur la base de la réception du premier message de balise, puis il passe en veille pour une certaine durée.
