A catalytic process is provided for converting a high boiling point range petroleum stream to distillate range product which includes contacting a petroleum feedstock having a boiling range from 600~ to 1100 ~F with a hydrocracking catalyst having a zoelite component with a framework silica to alumina ratio of at least 200:1, preferaly 2000:1, and a hydrogenation component. The process is conducted under superatmospheric hydrogen partial pressure to effect at least 20 % conversion, with at least 50 % of the converted product remaining in the boiling range of 330~ to 730 ~F.
L'invention concerne un procédé catalytique permettant de transformer un flux de pétrole à plage d'ébullition élevée en un produit de la gamme des distillats, lequel procédé consiste à mettre un charge de pétrole caractérisée par une plage d'ébullition comprise entre 600· et 1100 ·F au contact d'un catalyseur d'hydrocraquage comprenant un composant zéolite avec un rapport structurel silice/alumine d'au moins 200:1, de préférence de 2000:1, et un composant d'hydrogénation. Le procédé est mis en oeuvre sous pression partielle d'hydrogène superatmosphérique de manière à obtenir un taux de conversion d'au moins 20 %, 50 % au moins du produit transformé restant dans la plage d'ébullition 330·- 730 ·F.
