Disclosed is a process for the manufacture of dialkyl cyclohexanedicarboxylates by the low pressure, catalytic hydrogenation of the corresponding dialkyl benzendicarboxylate wherein the formation/accumulation of carbon monoxide is suppressed to maintain the activity of the precious metal catalyst.

L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication de cyclohexanedicarboxylates de dialkyle, selon lequel le benzènedicarboxylate de dialkyle correspondant est catalytiquement hydrogéné à basse pression. La formation/accumulation du monoxyde de carbone est supprimée afin de maintenir l'activité du catalyseur en métal précieux.
