ABSTRACT: The invention relates to a low-pressure sodium lamp. This lamp is provided with a discharge tube and an outer bulb enveloping this tube. A reflector for infra- red radiation is disposed on substantially the entire inside of the outer bulb. At least half of this reflector consists of a coating of transparent indium-oxide. In accordance with the invention the lamp is so small that the coldest spot of the discharge tube, at an electric power consumed by the lamp of approximately 20 Watts, assumes a temperature which results in a rela- tively high lumen per Watt-value. - 14 -
