A low-pressure tableted effervescent preparation which comprises from 10 to 35 % by weight of sodium hydrogencarbonate and/or sodium carbonate, from 10 to 70 % by weight of a neutralizing agent and from 0.02 to 40 % by weight of at least one component selected from among maltitol, sorbitol, maltose, trehalose, mannitol, lactitol and xylitol and has a sufficient tablet hardness and dissolution characteristics.
