A dipole antenna is constructed of flexible conductive elements (1, 2). These elements are encased in a flexible protective covering (3) or attached to a semi-rigid substrate. This covering (3) protects the antenna during handling, transport, and installation. The conductive elements (1, 2) and the protective covering (3) may be further encased or embedded in an external protective covering (4). The final external protective covering (4) serves as an adhesive to permanently attach the antenna to a mounting surface (7). When installed on the mounting surface, the antenna has a low profile with respect to the mounting surface (7).

L'invention porte sur une antenne dipôle faite d'éléments conducteurs flexibles (1, 2) enchâssés dans une couverture flexible (3) de protection ou attaché à un substrat semi-rigide. Ladite couverture (3) protège l'antenne pendant sa manipulation, son transport et son installation. Les éléments conducteurs (1, 2) et la couverture (3) peuvent en outre être enchâssés ou enfouis dans une couverture protectrice extérieure (4) qui sert d'adhésif pour fixer l'antenne en permanence à une surface (7) de montage où une fois installée l'antenne dépasse peu de ladite surface (7).
