Abstract of the Disclosure An article of manufacture for the reflectance of solar energy is disclosed comprising: a. a transparent substrate; b. a transparent film of a metal alloy oxide which exhibits color deposited on a surface of said substrate; and c. a low reflectance transparent metal alloy film deposited on said metal alloy oxide film. A method of making a solar energy reflecting coated article is also disclosed comprising the steps of: a. sputtering onto a surface of a substrate a first transparent coating of a metal alloy oxide which exhibits color; and b. sputtering over said metal alloy oxide film a low reflectance transparent metal alloy film.
