The present invention is directed to a golf ball (5) comprising a soft core (10) and a hard cover (16) to produce a golf ball having a reduced spin rate. The present invention is also directed to an improved golf ball comprising at least one interior layer (14) and/or a core (10) comprising a silicone material. It is preferred to also utilize a multi-layer cover (24, 26) in conjunction with the silicone materials. The golf ball (5) of the present invention may also utilize an elongated diameter which serves to further reduce spin rate. The resulting golf ball exhibits properties of reduced spin without sacrificing durability, playability and resilience.

La présente invention concerne une balle de golf (5) comprenant un noyau mou (10) et une enveloppe dure (16) de façon à réaliser une balle de golf à faible vitesse de rotation propre. L'invention concerne également un modèle perfectionné de balle de golf comprenant au moins une couche intérieure (14) et/ou un noyau (10) comprenant un matériau siliconé. On préfère également utiliser une enveloppe multicouche (24, 26) en liaison avec les matériaux siliconés. La balle de golf (5) de l'invention peut également utiliser un diamètre allongé permettant de réduire un peu plus la vitesse de rotation propre.
