A novel subset of meta-tetramethylxylylene diisocyanate/trimethylolpropane adducts (TMXDI/TMP adducts) having low solution viscosity and high available isocyanate functionality are described. These adducts are prepared by a novel two step process employing low catalyst levels, with subsequent stripping in a wiped film evaporator.
