The invention concerns a method for preparing low water uptake precipitated silicas, comprising successive steps which consist in: (a) producing an initial starter including a silicate, the silicate concentration in said starter, expressed in SiO¿2? equivalent, being less than 15 g/L; (b) bringing the medium pH to a value ranging between 7 and 8 by adding an acidifying agent, (c) in the resulting medium, simultaneously adding a silicate and an acidifying agent the respective amounts of silicate and acidifying agent added in time being specifically such that, during the entire addition (i) the reaction medium pH stays between 7 and 8, and (ii) the silicon concentration in the medium, expressed in SiO¿2 ?equivalent, stays below 35 g/L; (d) adding an acidifying agent in the medium resulting from step (c), so as to bring the medium to a pH ranging between 3 and 6.5; and (e) filtering the resulting aqueous silica dispersion, then drying the filter cake obtained at the end of the filtering step. The invention also concerns low water uptake silicas obtained by said method and their use, in particular for reinforcing silicones or polymer or elastomer matrices.
La présente invention a pour objet un procédé de préparation de silices de précipitation à faible reprise en eau, comprenant les étapes successives consistant à: (a) réaliser un pied de cuve initial comprenant un silicate, la concentration en silicate dans ledit pied de cuve, exprimée en équivalent SiO2, étant inférieure à 15 g/L; (b) amener le pH du milieu jusqu'à une valeur comprise entre 7 et 8 par addition d'un agent acidifiant; (c) dans le milieu ainsi réalisé, effectuer l'addition simultanée d'un silicate et d'un agent acidifiant, les quantités respectives de silicate et d'agent acidifiant ajoutées au cours du temps étant spécifiquement telles que, pendant toute la durée de l'addition (i) le pH du milieu réactionnel reste compris entre 7 et 8; et (ii) la concentration en silicium dans le milieu, exprimée en équivalent SiO2, reste inférieure à 35 g/L; (d) ajouter un agent acidifiant au milieu obtenu à l'issue de l'étape (c), de façon à porter le milieu à un pH compris entre 3 et 6,5; et (e) filtrer la dispersion aqueuse de silice obtenue, puis sécher le gâteau de filtration réalisé à l'issue de la filtration. L'invention concerne également les silices à faible reprise en eau obtenues selon ce procédé et leur utilisation, notamment pour le renfort de silicones ou de matrices polymères ou élastomères.
