ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A coating composition useful in metal working processes comprises a major proportion of a mineral lubricating oil having a viscosity at 100°F of at least 100 SUS and (a) 1.0 to 20 parts by weight of a paraffinwax, (b) 0.1 to 10 parts by weight of a polymeric wax modifier and (c) 0.1 to 10 parts by weight of an extreme pressure agent. The compositions can also contain one or more rust inhibitors. Particularly preferred classes of extreme pressure agents for use in this composition are sulfur-containing agents and zinc salts of dialkyl dithiophosphates.
