A composition comprising a) a lubricant or a hydraulic fluid, and b) at least one compound of general formula I Image wherein x is 1 or 2 and, when x is 1, n is 2 and R has the meaning of R1, or, when x is 2, n is 1 and R has the meaning of R4, and R1 is alkyl of 1 to 25 carbon atoms, an unsubstituted or C1-C8-alkyl-substituted cycloalkyl group of 5 to 12 carbon atoms, alkenyl of 2 to 18 carbon atoms, phenyl, naphthyl, C7-C18phenylalkyl, C7-C18alkylphenyl or- NR5R6, and R2 and R3 are identical or different and are alkyl of 1-18 carbon atoms, phenyl, naphthyl, C7-C18phenylalkyl or C7-C18alkylphenyl, or R2 and R3, together with the linking nitrogen atom, form a 5- to 7-membered heterocyclic ring which may additionally contain a N- or O-atom, R4 is alkylene of 2 to 12 carbon atoms which may be interrupted by at least one -O-group, or is alkenylene of 2 to 12 carbon atoms which may be interrupted by at least one -O-group, and R5 and R6, have the same meanings as R2 and R3. The compositions have enhanced stability to oxidative degradation.
