This invention relates to lubricant compositions comprising a polyalkylene glycol and an ester wherein the polyalkylene glycol has the formula (I): RO- (CH2CH(CH3)O)n-CH3 where R is an alkyl group with 1 to 15 carbon atoms and n = 1 to 35. The lubricant compositions of the invention do not readily form stable emulsions with water. This feature makes the lubricant compositions of the invention particularly suitable for use with air compressors where it is very difficult to exclude moisture.

On décrit des compositions de lubrifiant qui contiennent un polyalkylène glycol et un ester, le polyalkylène glycol étant représenté par la formule (I): RO-(CH¿2?CH(CH¿3?)O)¿n?-CH¿3? dans laquelle R représente un groupe alkyle contenant entre 1 et 15 atomes de carbone et n est compris entre 1 et 35. Les compositions de lubrifiant de la présente invention ne forment pas facilement des émulsions stables avec l'eau. Cette caractéristique rend les compositions de lubrifiant particulièrement adaptées pour être utilisées avec des compresseurs d'air dans lesquels il est très difficile d'éliminer l'humidité.
