The present invention provides lubricant compositions comprising a lubricant base and, as metal deactivator and/or antioxidant, at least one compound having the formula (I): Image wherein R2 is C1-C12 straight or branched chain alkyl; and R3 is C1-C12 straight or branched chain alkyl interrupted by one or more O-atoms or R3 is C5-C12cycloalkyl.
