The lubricants are random copolymers made from ethylene oxide or propylene oxide or a mixture thereof, and a monomer selected from the group consisting of aliphatic, non-substitued, 1,2-alkylene oxides containing from about 6 to about 40 carbon atoms, and mixtures thereof are disclosed.
