In a stent delivery system comprising: a catheter including a distal portion constructed and arranged to carry and release a stent; a stent positioned around the distal portion of the catheter, the stent having a contracted condition and being expandable to an expanded condition, the stent having at least one end portion lying over the distal portion of the catheter, and an elastomeric sleeve of polymeric composition carried in the region of the distal portion of the catheter and positioned around the catheter, the sleeve having a first end attached to the catheter and a second end lying over the end portion of the stent which lies over the catheter, the sleeve fixing the end of the stent on the catheter when the stent is in the contracted condition, the catheter and stent being cooperatively constructed and arranged for expansion of the stent and axial removal of the sleeve from the margin of the stent upon delivery of the stent for implantation, the improvement comprising: the sleeve including lubricant prior to assembly with the catheter to reduce friction and facilitate release of the stent.
L'invention porte sur un système de mise en place de stents comportant: un cathéter conçu pour transporter le stent et le libérer; un stent placé autour de l'extrémité distale du cathéter à l'état contracté et pouvant passer à l'état dilaté et dont une extrémité au moins entoure la partie distale du cathéter; et un manchon élastique de polymère porté par la partie de la portion distale du cathéter entourant le cathéter, et dont une première extrémité est fixée au cathéter, et la deuxième entoure l'extrémité du stent entourant le cathéter. Le manchon maintien l'extrémité du stent en position contractée sur le cathéter, et le cathéter et le stent sont étudiés pour coopérer à la dilatation du stent et au retrait axial du manchon de la lisière du stent lors de sa mise en place en vue de son implantation. Les améliorations portent le manchon et sa lubrification avant de son assemblage avec le cathéter de manière à réduire le frottement et faciliter la libération du stent.
