ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE LUBRICATING COMPOSITION A lubricating composition suitable for use in marine diesel engines comprises a lubricating base oil, a hydrocarbyl amine in microemulsified form and a dispersant for hydrocarbyl amine salts which may be formed during use. The hydrocarbyl amine may be a polyalkalene polyamine, and the dispersant may be a polyisobutenyl succinimide or a known detergent additive, e.g. a barium, calcium or sodium phenate, sulphonate or carboxylate.
