IMPROVED LUBRICATING MEANS FOR SHAFT COUPLINGS 77M27 Abstract An improved gear coupling for connecting a pair of substantially coaxially aligned rotatable shafts comprising a hub having outwardly extending spur year teeth projecting from a portion of the outer surface thereof con- nected to each of the rotatable shafts; a sleeve surrounding and radially spaced from each of said hubs, each sleeve having inwardly extending spur gear teeth in meshing engagement with the teeth on said hub and a low density re- ticulated polyurethane foam extending circumferentially within said sleeves for releasing lubricant by reason of centrifugal action when the coupling is rotated and retaining the lubricant when the coupling is at rest.
