ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The addition of a thiodixanthogen and a metal thiophosphate to a lubricating oil results in an unexpected synergistic improvement in the antiwear performance of the oil. Octylthiodixanthogen and zinc dialkyldithiophosphate are most preferred additives.
