The present invention relates to a medical device for insertion into the body wherein the device has at least one surface which periodically comes into con-tact with a second surface. The first surface comprises an improved lubricious coating having a first hydrogel layer and a second hydrophobic top coating which prevents the hydrogel coating from prematurely absorbing too much moisture. The hydrophobic top coating comprises at least one hydrophilic surfactant which acts as a carrier to facil-itate removal of the hydrophobic top coating upon entry into an aqueous environment.
La présente invention concerne un instrument médical devant s'introduire dans le corps, lequel instrument comporte une surface qui vient périodiquement en contact avec une seconde surface. La première surface comporte un revêtement lubrifiant d'un type amélioré constitué d'une première couche d'hydrogel et d'une seconde couche de finition hydrophobe qui empêche la couche d'hydrogel d'absorber trop d'eau prématurément. La couche de finition hydrophobe est constituée au moins d'un tensioactif hydrophile dont la fonction de support facilite l'enlèvement de la couche de finition hydrophobe lors de l'entrée dans un environnement aqueux.
