Moisture-resistant laminated veneer lumber is made by forming a laminated veneer lumber article and impregnating it under pressure with an aqueous solution of a preservative such as chromated copper arsenate or as boron-based preservative. Disclosed articles are decking boards, floorboards and structural lumber such as joists. The laminated veneer lumber can be impregnated with very high amounts of preservative, making it useable for wet environments.
