A luminaire having a tube-shaped gas discharge lamp, at least one reflector having a predetermined cross-section arranged neighboring the lamp, as seen from a region to be illuminated by the lamp, and at least one partially light permeable diffusor also arranged neighboring the lamp and positioned in front of the reflector, as seen from the region to be illuminated by the lamp. The diffusor and the reflector are spaced apart from each other in a region next to the lamp and run together at their ends away from the lamp to define at least one light chamber having a light entry surface which is the spacing between the diffusor and the reflector next to the lamp. The light entry surface has a predetermined height, and the light chamber has a predetermined width which extends from the light entry surface to the ends. The ratio of the width to the height is a ratio of at least 4:1. Further, there may be provided means for the attainment for a uniform light density over the width of the reflector.

La présente invention concerne un appareil d'éclairage doté d'une lampe à décharge tubulaire (1), comprenant au moins un réflecteur (2) de forme concave situé, du point de vue de la zone à éclairer, à côté de la lampe (1), ainsi qu'au moins un diffuseur (3) au moins semi-transparent situé, également du point de vue de la zone à éclairer, à côté de la lampe (1), mais à l'avant du réflecteur (2). Le diffuseur (3) et le réflecteur (2) délimitent, à proximité de la lampe (1), au moins une surface d'entrée de la lumière et se rencontrent au niveau de leur extrémité située à distance de la lampe (1), de sorte qu'elles forment au moins une cavité lumineuse (4), le rapport entre la largeur (a) d'une cavité lumineuse et la hauteur de la surface d'entrée de la lumière valant au moins 4:1. Cette invention concerne également des moyens permettant d'obtenir une densité lumineuse uniforme sur toute la largeur du réflecteur.
