PRECIS DE LA DIVULGATION : La présente invention concerne des fluosilicates activés par l'europium divalent et répondant à la formule M1-x Eux2+ SiF6 dans laquelle O<x?o, 2 et M représente au moins un métal alcalino-terreux choisi dans le groupe constitué par le baryum et le strontium. Ces fluosilicates ont une émission intense à environ 3600.ANG. lorsqu'ils sont excités par une radiation ultra-violette de longueur d'onde comprise entre environ 2300 et 3200.ANG.. Les composés sont en particulier utilisables dans les lampes à décharge pour produire de la lumière noire.
