ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A-carton is made from a single cardboard blank and is of a knock-down variety which can be shipped in a flattened configuration but which may be readily erected by hand applied forces at selected carton fold lines. The top portion of the carton may be gabled in configuration to provide additional interior volume and may include integral carrying handles. The carton is provided with movable wedge shaped locking tabs which are operative with apertures in selected side walls of the carton, to securely lock the carton in the closed condition. To prevent lateral shifting of the top of the carton there may be provided folding tabs for securing the carrying handles.
