ABSTRACT A fishing lure retriever consisting of an annular Member which is generally tear-drop shape, both in inner and peripheral outline view. The inner periphery defines an open area for receiving the fishing line and of sufficient size to pass over a fishing lure to be retrieved that is attached to a snagged hook. A slot in the member is provided for inserting the fishing line into the open area. One end of the member is pointed providing a V-notch to engage the snagged hook or connecting line beyond the lure and the opposite end is rounded. A line guide is detachably mounted on the retriever, the line guide being generally "A" shaped having at least one leg thereof attached to the retriever and an open eye on the apex of the "A" for receiving the fishing line therein. A slot is provided for inserting the line into the eye of the guide.
