Apparatus for providing mechanical stimulation of the lymphatic system within the trunk of the body for the treatment of lymphedema. A wrap (12) contains a plu-rality of bladders (44, 46, 48, 50, 52, 54, 56, 58, 60, 62) which are applied to the trunk of the body. The bladders (44, 46, 48, 50, 52, 54, 56, 58, 60, 62) are pres-surized and depressurized on an individ-ual basis to stimulate the lymphatic sys-tem to provide for drainage of pooled flu-ids by massaging the pooled fluids within the trunk section of the body toward se-lected lymph node groups.

On décrit un appareil conçu pour apporter une stimulation mécanique au système lymphatique à l'intérieur du tronc du corps en vue du traitement d'un lymphoedème. Une enveloppe (12) contient plusieurs vessies (44, 46, 48, 50, 52, 54, 56, 58, 60, 62) qu'on applique sur le tronc du corps. Ces vessies sont comprimées et détendues individuellement pour stimuler le système lymphatique et permettre l'écoulement de fluides accumulés, grâce à un massage desdits fluides effectué à l'intérieur du tronc du corps pour les acheminer vers des groupes sélectionnés de ganglions lymphatiques.
