Abstract of the Disclosure Reconstitution of freeze-dried materials, particularly pharmaceuticals or diagnostic agents, is greatly facilitated by inclusion of surface active agents, preferably non-ionic surface active agents, in the composition prior to lyophilization. Preferred are surfactants which are solid at room temperature and have HLB numbers of about 14-40, in an amount of about 0.01-20% by weight of the solids in the composition to be lyophilized.
